Dallas Dwight Hagelbarger II, 64, a life-long resident of Akron passed away February 5, 2014. He was born June 19, 1949 to Dallas and Marie Hagelbarger.
"Dee" as he was affection ately called, attended Manchester High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for two tours during Vietnam aboard the USS Regulus. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 9795 in Canal Fulton, worked for several area Chevrolet Dealerships and later at Louisiana Pacific.
He was a humble man who chose to focus on his blessings rather than problems. His gentle smile and sparkling blue eyes will not be forgotten.
Dallas was preceded in death by his mother, Marie. He leaves behind his father, Dallas (Connie) of Flagler Beach, Fla.; brother, Shane of Akron; sister, Darlene (Joe) Adams; nephew, Brandon Adams; niece, Marisa (Adam) Branch all of Miami, Fla.; uncle, Richard Hagelbarger; aunt, Pat Hinson and their families all of Akron.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving support and compassionate care provided to Dallas by the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service team and the staff of Rose Lane Nursing Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, OH 44319 (SR 619). Family and friends may call on Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park with V.F.W Post 3383 performing Military Honors.
