TOGETHER AGAIN

Don Bittner, 91, passed away September 10, 2018. He was born September 21, 1926 in Akron to the late Frank and Florence Bittner. Don served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Barnett. He was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. until his retirement. He was an avid swimmer, golfer, and enjoyed vacationing on Hilton Head Island with family and friends. Don was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife, Jean; son, Jerry and brother, Richard. He is survived by his son, Frank; daughters, Donna (Renee) Donaldson and Cathy Bittner; grandchildren, Amy (John) Bolan, Kevin (Angie) Donaldson, Andrea Bittner, Christina (Chris) Wagers, Craig Bittner; eight great grandchildren; as well as many other loving family and friends.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Rose Lane and Crossroads Hospice for the love and care they provided to our dad.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 (SR 619), with Pastor Jeffrey Hancock officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Don's name to Crossroads Hospice, Charitable Foundation, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive, Ste.
