Donna G. (Bates) Coolman Obituary
Donna G. (Bates) Coolman, 94, passed away at her residence Saturday January 19, 2013.

Donna was a member of Grace Bible Church, formerly known as Trinity Chapel, serving for over 25 years as the Director of Music. She was a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary and until seven years ago taught piano lessons in her home. She was an accomplished pianist, organist and director. Just one of her accomplishments was the formation, direction and production of an area wide choir celebrating our nation's bicentennial in July of 1976.

Mrs. Coolman taught Music in the Jackson Township, Dalton and Kidron school systems prior to moving to Manchester where she taught English for more than 15 years at Manchester High School.

Donna graduated with honors from the prestigious Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (now University of Cincinnati) with a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance.

Preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Adelbert Bates Jr. and second husband, Earl Arnold Coolman and her daughter, Judith Bates McClung, she is survived by her daughter, Jana Bates (Robert) Elb of Bloomingdale, Ill.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m at Grace Bible Church, 5781 Manchester Rd., with Pastor Jerry Harpool officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will be received TODAY from 5 to 8 p.m. at House of Eberhardt Funeral Home, 472 W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rt. 619) and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service.
