Eunice Eleanor Stein Obituary
Eunice Eleanor Stein, age 90, died on Saturday June 30, 2012.

Eunice was born December 24, 1921 in Akron. She graduated from East High School with honors and played clarinet in the school band. During World War II, she worked at BFGoodrich. After the war she raised six children. It was during this time she and her late husband Jerry assisted in the founding of St. Hilary Church. She also volunteered at Akron City Hospital and served on the St. Thomas Women's Board. Even as she aged, her passion for music never ceased as she was a member of the St. Hilary adult choir and played clarinet in the New Horizons senior citizens band where she once had the opportunity to play at Blossom Music Center. She retired from Sterling Inc. in 1993.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Milton Brown and Jane Marie Shannon Brown; grandson, John Ragsdale; brother-in-law, William Green; bother-in-law, Dr. Robert Mott; sister-in-law, Helen Mott; and and close friend, Hellen Mitten. She is survived by her sister, Jane; sister-in-law, Katherine (Herman) Weskamp; her children, Marie, Gerard (Pat), Timothy (Jennifer), Anne (Mark) Chapman, James (Kimberly), Sarah (Wannie) Cook; grandchildren, Anne (Michael) Thompson, Amanda, Emily, Hannah, Christopher, Mark Jr (Jess), Graham, Brian, Olivia, James Jr., and Elaina; great-grandchildren, Austin and Macy, and Chloe and Ben; and niece, Beth Green; close friends Olive cairns, June and Ed Carter, Mark Mitten, Annie Robinson, and many other cherished friends.

The family would also like to Merry Anne Scheible, Lilia Means and the nurses and aides at St Edwards Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Thursday, July 5th, at St. Hilary Catholic Church. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call prior to the mass from 11am at the St. Hilary Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Hilary Foundation, 2750 W. Market St., Fairlawn, Ohio, 44333-4236; The John Ragsdale Art Scholarship at Kent State University in care of Cristina Havice, St. Edwards Nursing Home 3131 Smith Rd.
