Gerald Hardman Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Hardman, 90, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Country Club Retirement Center in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.

He was born August 27, 1922 in Walkersville, W. Virginia, the first son of the late Earl and Lena Hardman. Mr. Hardman lived most of his life in Akron, Ohio. He was a World War II Navy veteran having served from October 1942 to December 1945 and retired from Firestone Rubber Company after 29 ½ years of service.

Preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Carmel in 2001; brothers, Virgil, Bill and Sylvester; sisters, Lola Marsh and Athleen Frazier; Jerry is survived by sisters, Opal Felton of Falling Waters, W. Virginia and Eileen Thibaut of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Friday, 2 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203, with Rev. Diane Cook officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park with military honors by Firestone VFW 3383. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service.
