Jacob Mallon Adamek, age 16, passed away April 22, 2009. Jacob was born on Oct. 20, 1992 and resided in Kent.
Jacob was an insightful person and genuinely compassionate toward others. He gave everyone the benefit of the doubt and showed empathy to all those he met.
Jacob always greeted loved ones with his magnetic smile and with his strong, loving embrace. Jacob had a special bond with his brothers. He was passionate about his love of music and enjoyed everything from jazz to rap. Jacob was an avid fan of basketball, both playing and watching his beloved Cavs. He was an above average student and won many academic and character awards. Jacob was very spiritual and a faithful parishoner at St. Patrick Church. He expressed his deepest thoughts about his faith and his world through poetry. Jacob will be dearly missed. He was too good for this world.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Paul and Stephenie Adamek of Kent; older brother, Jordan and younger brother, Ryan; maternal grandmother, Norma Jean Fleming of Kent; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Judith Adamek of Kent; Godparents, Anne McKinney of Munroe Falls and Christopher Caine of Lakewood; and his many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jacob was preceded in death by his cousin, Benjamin Adamek.
Calling hours will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 27 at St. Patrick Church. Burial will be at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick School Endowment Fund, 127 Portage Street, Kent, OH 44240.
