Jean (Nickols) Daniels Obituary
Jean (Nickols) Daniels, age 87, of Berlin Heights, died on Tuesday March 19, 2013 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, following a brief illness. She was born on March 5, 1926 in Berlin Heights and had lived in the area her entire life. Jean was a 1944 graduate of Berlin Heights High School. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and neighborhood chairman, served on the Election Board for 25 years, and worked as a secretary for Dr. Blackann for 12 years. Jean was a member of the Berlin Heights Congregational UCC.

As a cancer survivor, Jean helped start the Reach To Recovery Program in 1970 in order to help other women with breast cancer.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Bets" (Ronald) Geib of Monroe Falls, Ohio; a son, Jim Daniels of Berlin Heights; a sister, Alice Hillis of Berlin Heights; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William "Bill" Daniels; parents, Louis and Elizabeth (Irish) Nickols; a sister, Ruth Kolar; and brother, Myron "Bud" Nickols.

Friends may call on Friday, March 22, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights, Pastor Casey Cain of the Berlin Heights Congregational Church will be officiating.
