Joan M. McVay

Obituary Condolences

Joan passed March 6, 2012 in Florida. She was born on May 1, 1926 in Colchester, Essex, England.

Joan was a proud Londoner and also lived in Cairo, Egypt during World War ll. She worked at various war departments including time served as a top secret typist for General Bernard Montgomery. In 1949 she married her husband, Bill McVay and American solder and artist. They lived in Sharon Center, Ohio where they raised their three children. She worked at Sherwin Williams and ran her on drapery and decorating business. She enjoyed competitive ballroom dancing, sunshine, and going to the beach.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Bill McVay; grandchildren, Timothy W., Amiee J. Farrell, and son-in-law, Marvin R. Farrell. She is survived by her children, Michael J., Dr. John P. McVay and Elizabeth Farrell; grandchildren, Chris and Brooke McVay, Allison Shell, Cathy Farrell; and two great-grandchildren.
