John E. Anderson, Jr.
John E. Anderson, Jr., 68, passed away on December 20, 2008 after a six-month battle with lung cancer.
Born in Weston, W. Va., he was an avid hunter and fisherman. After completing his three year commitment in the USAF, he moved to Akron in 1963 and worked as a surveyor for Bieswinger, Hoch and Arnold. John and his wife, Marian, raised three daughters in Richfield, Ohio, where he was employed by Richfield Trailer Sales for ten years and then began his driving career in 1974. John resided in Richfield for the last forty years. He retired from Roadway Express in 2006 as a long-haul driver, where he also worked extensively with the company safety programs as an instructor and Road Team coordinator. He was the proud grandfather to eight grandchildren with whom he loved to fish, garden, have bonfires and ride his John Deere tractor. In his retirement, John was an active member of the Richfield Amvets, Post 176.
He is survived by his wife, Marian (nee Reye), and his three daughters, Sharon Fedele (Dr. Gregory), Susan Percival (Jack), and Michelle Lane (Trent). He was "Grampy" to Devin, Reese, Doug, Sean, Kyle, Aaron, Taylor and Bryce.
