Judith Ann Crater (age 59) was born May 26, 1953 in Akron to John and Marie Sigmund and died November 14, 2012.|
The seventh of eight children, she was raised in Norton and Akron. She graduated from St. Vincent High School and The University of Akron. Judy taught fourth grade at Monroe Elementary School in Tallmadge for thirty years. She resided in Cuyahoga Falls and in retirement worked at the polls on election days. She collected antique keys, door knobs and palindromes. Judy will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and Thanksgiving Day extravaganzas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Paul Anstead; and recently by her stepdaughter, Darla Crater. Judy will be forever missed by her husband of thirty-one years, Robert Crater. She also leaves her stepdaughter, Helen Newbury, and stepgrandchildren, Samantha, Sylvan, Gaylen, Tristan, Paige, and Wesley; and great-granddaughter, Satreyia, as well as brothers-in-law, Gary (Marilyn) and Dennis (Cheryl) Crater.
Judy is survived by brothers and sisters, Johanne Anstead, John Sigmund, Linda (Steve) Ladich, Mary Catherine Schaffer, Pauline (James) Bartlett, Sharlene Sigmund and Joseph (Katia) Sigmund. She was the favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was our angel.
Calling hours 3 t o 5 Sunday at the Ciriello and Carr Cuyahoga Falls Chapel, 810 Portage Tr., Cuyahoga Falls 44221, where the procession will form beginning at 9 a.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 10 a.m., St. Joseph Catholic Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
