Kathryn Carr Obituary
Kat Carr was a "crazy woman". She never backed down for a challenge; she never walked away from a fight and she never once apologized for anything because she had no regrets. Every thought she ever had came straight out of her mouth and every person she ever met never forgot her; she was larger than her life, and her life was a blockbuster movie just waiting to be written.
Though her spine was made of steel, her heart was soft and she was a sucker for a sob story. She never turned away anyone in need - not anyone, no matter how many times she got burned. Over the years, she gave shelter to the homeless, allowed entire families to sleep on her floor and took in numerous children who had no one to care for them; as well as raising four of her own, entirely on her own. There was nothing you couldn't tell her. There was nothing you could say that would shock or offend her, or that she wouldn't understand. She was the one person in the world you could always talk to when you couldn't talk to anyone else. No matter how bad it was, she could always make you feel better; because no matter what you said, she always had a story that completely topped yours.
Kat was preceded in death by her parents, James and Genevieve Price; her sister, Heidi Price; her husbands, George Adams and Stephen Speer; and her son, Stephen Carr; she will be forever missed by her husband, Earl Freeman; her ex-husband, Wayne Botez; her children, Nicole (Brian) Esker, George (Sarah) Adams and Jessica (Michael) Maguire; her grandchildren, Alex, Debra, Sabrina, Jacob, Shane and Michael, as well as The Eiseman Family, her many neighbors and friends at the Lakeside Trailer Park, any many, many others including; the fine people at Anheuser-Busch, Phillip-Morris and the Ohio State Lottery.
Following Kat's request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203.
Everyone dies, but not everyone lives. Mom lived. She lived hard, but she lived full. So, "Don't cry because it's over….. Smile because it happened!" Light your smoke and raise your glass and remember the last thing she said to you that made you laugh so hard you thought you were going to wet yourself; but this time don't hold back. Because she never did……

My husband sent me this Obituary in an email today .
May I first say that Kat must have been the luckiest woman on earth ! She had so many people who accepted her as she was and loved her so very much .
It's so refreshing to read an obituary that "tells it like it is " instead of making up a big line of flowery words .
I know you miss your mom, but it sounds like she has left a huge piece of her here,since she touched so many lives and left such an impression on them all .
She definitely gave her kids the tools to carry on in life and enjoy it to the fullest like she did. There's no better gift a mom could give her kids.
You gave her a gift when you printed this obituary: you have posted it where so many others who never knew this lady ,have gotten to hear a bit about her .She has now left a mark on us too !
I've printed this out and will keep it . I think it teaches us all a lesson.
We need to treasure the people in our lives .Be thankful for them and accept them just the way they are.
She was indeed one lucky lady to have so many who could do that .

I saw this obituary posted on a friend's facebook wall. I feel that this obituary is the best that I've ever read and although I do feel sympathy for the family and friends who will miss this woman, it sounds as though her life will be celebrated by all that knew her well. Thanks for letting the world know who this woman was without all of the traditional boring BS.

Well mom you went global (bookface) and they even wrote a followup in the Beacon about your obit. Thats what you wanted. I just want you to know even though it was rough growing up (wooden spoon)but you taught us everything we ever will need to know. I just hope I can raise my kids as well as you did. I love you and I miss you so freakin much! I know you are in a better place but da** it now this placereally sucks without you here. Who am I supposed to call when I cant figure out whats wrong with my stuffed peppers, or yell about my husband?? What a unique woman she truly was! Their were so many times as a teenager she helped me out...and by this has had an imprint on who I am today. She was an extended mother to me and to many more. Now her and Steve can rock heaven together. I can still see him flinging his arms around and clicking his fingers imating Kat and saying "Oh yeah...this is my jam!" Lol. Love all of you!

I never laughed so hard in my life over an obiturary of all things. She sure sounded like a colorful personwho really lived a full life, and God bless her theres nothing wrong with that.. although i never met her her obits going on my refrigerator. wish i had know her.condolences to a family that just in a few paragraphs shows how much they loved her. rest in peace. thank you family for that obiturary it was great pam walker

I only met Kat once, but it left an indelible mark on me. I knew of Kat through three of her children. All three of them are free spirits and individuals. You can see the influence that she had on them. Stephen you were a rock start that touched the sun. You will be missed. Nicole you have been one of my dearest friends for so long. I can not imagine the person you would be without your mom. My thoughts are with all of you. The afterlife just got a bit more funky

I didn't know this woman but from the tribute, she was a force to be reckoned with. What a marvelous woman with a heart of gold. A Mama Bear if ever there was one, but one with a squishy heart too. I am so so sorry to hear about your mom passing away. I was lucky enough to meet her when she greeted me at the door for my first visit. She remembered the story I had written and told me that she really liked it which I thought was very cool of her, she could have just looked at me like a weirdo. I also remember her telling me as she left that, "you'll wanna come back & see my daughter again, she's the best around". She was a cool lady. Remember the old proverb, "A mothers virtue does not end with her passing, it is evident every day in the lives of her children"
