Laura L. Thayer, 94, of Green passed away on October 5, 2012. She was born on November 30, 1917 in Indiana County, Pa. to the late Chester C. and Maggie Roene (Boyer) Ferrier.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband, John W. in 1974; son, John R. in 2010; sisters, Nellie, Bertha, Mary and Hazel and brother Arthur. She is survived by sons, Dennis, Wayne and Gary (Christi) Thayer; grandchildren, Katy (Mark) Calder, Jack, T.J. and Kevin Thayer; great-grandson, Gabriel Calder; brother, Jim (Kathy) Ferrier; sister and dear friend, Betty Zorak; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Drs. Dean Rich and Sandra Hazra and to the wonderful staff of both Pleasant View Health Care Center and Barberton Hospice & Palliative Care.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 9 at 10 a.m. at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, OH 44319 (SR 619) with Rev. Jennifer Olin-Hitt officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at East Liberty Cemetery.
