Marguerite A. Gabel (nee) Montcalmo

Marguerite A. Gabel (nee) Montcalmo, born May 6, 1935 in Wilmington, Del. passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 in Barberton, Ohio.

Marguerite was married to the love of her life, Clarence J Gabel, Sr., for 55 years. Marguerite retired from Barberton Citizens Hospital and Visiting Nurse Services. Marguerite loved gardening, knitting, and family.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Clarence Gabel, Jr. of Barberton, Mark (Georgene) Gabel of Barberton, Joseph Gabel of Massillon, Angelina (Timothy) Samples of Clinton; she also leaves behind her grandchildren, Sarah, Amy (Michael), Michael (Melinda), Jennifer (Paul), Mark (Stephanie), Joseph, Nicholas, Vanessa (Bryce), Timothy (Molly), Nathan, Ben (Nicole), Gerald (Claire), Kathleen (Christian), Christopher (Alicia), Melissa (Timothy), Joshua (Kylee), Daniel, and Haley; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Anthony Montcalmo (Bonnie) of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Angeline Ceresini (Phillip) of Wilmington, Del.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Gabel, Sr.; her parents, Joseph and Mary Montcalmo; sister, Lucy Tambourelli; and son, Christopher Gabel, Sr.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, October 20th, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton 44203. Services will be held on Monday, October 21st at 10 a.m., Deacon Robin Adair officiating at Cox Funeral Home. Immediately followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron.

A special thanks to the staff at Manor Care, Barberton that over the years became her extended family. They spoiled her as much as she did them. Also, a special thank you to Heartland Hospice, (Ann), who has been there for her and her family throughout the years, and has always been a comfort and blessing.
