Mary M. Slanovec, 93, of Wadsworth, died Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman.

She was born March 25, 1925 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late John and Mary (Kusher) Stasko and lived most of her life in Wadsworth.

Mary was joined in marriage to the love of her life, Joe T. Slanovec on October 1, 1949; he preceded her in death July 13, 2016. She was employed by Firestone-Bridgestone as a secretary for 18 years.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Wadsworth and enjoyed spending time with her family, polka dancing, collecting dolls and shopping. Mary's pride and joy in life is her daughter, "Becky Jo".

Surviving is daughter, Becky (Ed) Perry of Marshallville; grandchildren, Ken (Lesli) Carraway of Marshallville, Tom (Shelley) Carraway of Wooster, Joe (Brandy) Carraway of Orrville, Gary (Becki) Carraway of Dalton and Melaney (Doug) Nieman of Wooster; great-grandchildren, Kenny, Kayla, Josh, Matt, Jessica, Justin, Greg, Cheyenne, Garrett, Sierra, Anna, Marshall, Alora, Logan, Shania and Hunter; and great-great-grandchildren, Hayley, Isaiah and Asher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; sister, Marge McArdle; and brothers, John, George and Tom Stasko.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 260 Broad St., Wadsworth with Father Patrick Spicer officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Apostolic Christian Home and Western Reserve Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Mary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
