1931-2018

Michael G. Petros, 87, of Canton, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 11 with his family by his side. Michael was born in Canton, Ohio February 25, 1931, and was the son of the late George and Mary (Alex) Petros.

Michael was preceeded in death by his parents and his brother, Nicholas Petros of North Canton. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Norma Jean (Bolgrin); daughters, Susan Saltalamacchia and Carol (Dave) Campigotto; five grandchildren, Jason Tresidder, Brian Tresidder, Christine Campigotto (Brian Albert), Rebecca (Thomas) Parsons, and Elizabeth Booker; great-grandchildren, Chloe, 11, Gavin four, Cora one; Also survived by sister-in-law, Dolores Petros; and many nieces and nephews.

Michael graduated from McKinley High School with honors and attended Mount Union College. In 1953, he began building homes in the Stark County area and later founded Summit Homes, expanded into three neighboring states. Michael also enjoyed being on his farm, planting crops and raising livestock. He was an avid car enthusiast and had an extensive collection of antique cars.

More importantly he was a loving husband, father and grandfather, which the family attributes to his faith. Michael dedicated his life to his God, Jehovah, on August 3, 1950 and served as an Elder in the Canton area for over 50 years and remained faithful through his illness.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 17th at 7 p.m. at Canton Memorial Civic Center-McKinley Room with visiting hours beginning at 4, 1101 Market Ave., North, Canton, Ohio, Wayne Falkowski, officiating.
