Nicholas Shaffer Obituary
He was beloved son of Jon Shaffer and Lisa Traylor; cherished brother of, Todd and Blake Bullion, and Cassidy Shaffer; grandson of, Patricia Shaffer, and James Traylor. He attended Woodridge Elementary and Kids First Schools.
Nic enjoyed music, especially The Beatles. He also loved to swim, watching Spongebob, jumping on trampolines and hiking. He will be remembered for his infectious belly laugh and giant smile that could always light up a room. In his short time on earth he made a positive impact on the many lives he touched. He taught us all what really mattered in life, namely, to never take the little blessings in life for granted.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to all the emergency responders that aided in the search for Nic, you will always be in our hearts.
Calling hours Thursday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the Ciriello and Carr FAIRLAWN Chapel at 39 S. Miller Rd., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Rev. Karen Biggerstaff officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Woodridge School District, Special Needs Program, 4411 Quick Rd., Peninsula, OH 44264.

I had the privilege of working with Nick while working as a substitute at Woodridge Intermediate. I remember one day when he was having a rough day, and I will never forget the lesson that he sparked with the fourth grade classroom I was substituting about compassion, understanding, empathy, and that everyone faces challenges. At such a young age, he was already a teacher, and he had such an impact on those who were fortunate to know him. His great big smile will stay with me forever. In time, I hope that you will be able to get to a point where you can smile again and know that he made a difference in so many lives. God sent an angel to the earth...
The sweetest angel too
and for such a tiny little thing,
he had so much to do.
He knew he did not have
