Raynard J. Smith was 39 years old when he transitioned to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 3rd 2013. He was born December 30, 1973 in Akron, Ohio.

He was raised by his loving great-grandparents, Priscilla & Edward Smith. He graduated from John R. Buchtel High School. He also attended the University of Akron.

He married his friend and love of his life Tina Spooney on May 27, 2005. He was a faithful employee of American Shopping and Packaging for over 15 years. Raynard was a member of The House Of The Lord in Akron, Ohio.

Raynard was a very loving and caring person. He loved his family and was dedicated to providing for his loved ones and preserving family relationships. He loved working on cars, working in the yard and working with numbers; boy did he love numbers.

Raynard had a heart of gold; he spent countless hours with his grandsons, nieces, nephews and many other family members. He would give you his last if he thought it would help. And last but not least he truly loved God.

Raynard was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Edward and Pricilla Smith; Daisy Favor; James Shropshire Sr.; Aunt Pamela Ackley; Uncle Andre Shropshire and Cousin Dierre Robinson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Tina Smith; children, Shontaya Spooney and Jay M. Spooney; grandchildren, Dylante and David Richardson; parents, Veorlon Sanders and James (Gwen) Shropshire; grandmother, Shirley Shropshire; siblings, Darone (Renee) Shropshire, Cameron (Stacy) Shropshire of Denver, Colo., Jeremiah (Shandrika) Shropshire of Charlotte, N.C., Kevin Sanders, Katrina Sanders; in-laws, Sarah Spooney, Willie (Thomasena) Threatt, John (Yolanda) Spooney, Belinda Spooney, Selena Spooney, Carmenita Ruiz, Eric (Toka) Spooney; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved dog Cleo.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at The House of The Lord, Min. William Carlton eulogizing. Interment Glendale Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 2140 Ganyard Rd.
