Rita Marie Evans Obituary
Rita Marie Evans, 89, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a period of declining health.

She was born November 26, 1922 in Nebraska to Edward and Philomena (Kaborek) Dosek and attended the University of Nebraska, where she met her husband of 43 years, Keith Davis Evans. They were married on July 27, 1942. He preceded her in death in December 1985.

Rita was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother "Mummer", great-grandmother and friend. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Orrville. She touched the lives of many children as a librarian at North Street Elementary School in Orrville for 25 years. She loved life and her many hobbies, which included golf in area leagues and served as a marshall at several professional golf tournaments. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting, playing bridge, and had a special fondness for the many Boxer dogs the family owned over the years. Above all, she will be remembered for her deep and abiding love of her faith and her family.

Rita is survived by her children and their spouses, Allen (Gloria) Evans of Fishers, Indiana, Carol Reed of Syracuse, New York, Tom Evans of Dalton, Jamie (Peter) Luisi of Indianapolis, Julie (Greg) Nussbaum of Kidron, Pam (Marc) Thauvette of Dalton, and Robin (Stephen) Evans-DelCiappo of Marshallville; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Philomene Bennett (Louis) Marak of Kansas City, Missouri and Joanne Scoville of Shenandoah, Iowa; a brother, Edwin (Betty) Dosek of Crofton, Maryland; sister-in-law, Carol Dosek of San Diego, Calif.; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerome Dosek; sister, Mary Alice Mickle; son-in-law, Michael Reed; grandson, Kevin Thauvette; and brothers-in-law, Bill Mickle and Jack Scoville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Orrville on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Ronald Turek as celebrant. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth, Ohio. Friends may call at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
