Robert Schwalbach Obituary

Robert John Schwalbach

Robert John Schwalbach, 83, died August 2, 2010.

Robert was born in Akron, graduated from North High, served in the Army, owned and operated a number of gas stations and a mobile welding company. Robert was a Freemason in good standing with the Coventry Lodge.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara (in picture, with Robert, above); brother, Leonard; and sister, Catherine. Sister Patricia B. Schwalbach survived Robert by two days, passing away in Los Angeles, California on August 4, 2010.

He is greatly missed by his daughter, Patricia A. Schwalbach; sisters, Betty Budd and Dorothy Dile; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

At 6' 5', Robert was known as ``Big Bob', much to his chagrin. He was a man of character, values, strong opinions with a great love of history. He was a wise man known for his adages. Two of his favorites: ``You're not lost until you're out of gas,' and his secret to longevity: ``Don't get sick and don't fall down.' A thrifty and conservative child of the great depression, Robert would have been appalled at how much money his daughter spent to publish this obituary.

A military service will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of other remembrances, please consider a donation to Robert's favorite charity: The Humane Society of the United States. (ADAMS MASON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 330-535-9186)

Dear Patty Ann, and Eric...I just spoke to Joanie last weekend, and she told me about your Dad. I was so sad to hear the news. Your Dad was a kind and gentle man. Your Mom was a sweetheart. I will miss them both. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Sincerely,

Rick and Vanessa Foltz

So sorry to hear of your family's loss, Bob and Pat. I worked with Pat in Downey in the 70s, and she always spoke highly of her brother, Bob. I am sure you have many joyful memories, as I do of Patricia.

Condolence from the Garcia Family ( Lou Garcia, nephew of Aunt Lourdes Samonte and the whole family) for the loss of your father, Bob and your aunt Patricia. Our prayers are for both of them. Thanks
