Rosemarie James, age 87, of Akron, Ohio passed away Friday, September 7, 2018. She was born on April 20, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois.

She graduated from Roosevelt College, where she studied Chemistry and it is where she met her husband, John R. James. Rosemarie and John (Jack), moved to Akron, Ohio in 1966 where Rosemarie taught chemistry, biology and physics in the Akron Public School system until her retirement. Rosemarie, who loved learning, completed her formal education with a doctorate degree from Akron University in 1980.

Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, John and Julia Vladek, and her sister, Genevieve Ozog-Jurewicz. She is survived by her children, Melinda (Dennis) Bechtel, Jaclyn Facinelli, JoAnne (Stephen) Rau, and John R. James, Jr. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rosemarie also loved traveling, gardening and sewing. In her retirement, Rosemarie volunteered her time to teach English in China and Fiji and sewed magnificent gowns for dolls of all sizes and types. Rosemarie followed current affairs and politics and you could always count on a lively discussion when you visited. Rosemarie enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always looking for fun things to share with them.

As a final tribute to advancing science, Rosemarie donated her body to the medical college. There will be a remembrance gathering of immediate family at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Renaissance of Richfield for their kindness and the care they provided.
