Ruth Ann Mest (nee Diliplane), of Mantua, Ohio, passed away on November 26, 2012 under hospice care. |
She was born December 4, 1937 in Reading, Pa. to Charles and Annie (nee Gift) Diliplane. She graduated from Boyertown High School in 1955 and married Russell B. Mest, Jr. They moved to Stow, Ohio, where she became a mother to four sons. She was active in scouting, Sarah Circle at Trinity Lutheran Church and the Emblem Club of Kent Elks. She worked for Montgomery Wards, then became a florist, retiring from Giant Eagle in Stow.
Survivors are Russell Mest, Jr., her husband of 57 years; sons, Ronald (Melissa) of Mantua, Ohio, Rodney (Bill) of Houston, Texas, Richard (Tracy) of Stow, Ohio and Robert (Traci) of Bloomington, Ind.; grandchildren, Josh Mest of Kent, Ohio, Mathew, Rachel and Michael of Bloomington, Ind., Jeff and Joe Whitacre of Stow, Ohio; brother, Chuck (Linda) Diliplane of Austin, Texas; sister, Lucille (Leroy) Gehris of Gilbertsville, Pa. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Roxanne.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 600 South Water Street, Kent, OH 44240, on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 4:30 p.m., officiated by The Reverend Elizabeth Hazelton. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the service. She will be laid to rest at Oley Cemetery in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church. F.J.
