Known to many as Limey Bill, age 62, passed away on December 23, 2012 following a recent illness. |
He was born in England and served proudly in the Royal Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, he pursued a career as a machinist primarily in the aerospace industry which led him to Canada and eventually Akron. He had a great love of soccer, especially the Bolton Wanderers.
Bill is survived by his love of 21 years, Deborah (Kurtz) of Akron; mother, June (Davis); daughter, Dawn Marie Smith; son, Wayne Humphries; as well as brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and grandchildren (all from England).
At Bill's request, cremation has taken place. A small memorial service will be held on January 12, 2013 at the VFW Mains Post 1070 641 E. Tallmadge Avenue, Akron, OH 44310 (330) 253-5539 at 2 p.m. with a "Celebration of Life" to follow. Services will be officiated by Post Chaplain Steve Berenyi.
