Marilyn, Nancy, and family,

We just learned of Chuck's passing. I am so sorry that we missed paying our respects. Chuck was an amazing man, and you both have been such close friends of my parents from Norton Class of 1948. Now he can visit with Betty and Russ, free of pain and ailments. God bless him and all of you in your loss of a great husband, father and grandfather.

I met Mr Chapman in 1965 when our family moved up the street to resided next door. I was six and sorely in need of positive role models in my life. He and his family included me in many family functions including visits to Grandpa's farm, fishing, frogging, etc, etc. It was through his living example I learned much that influences my life today. - Unselfishness, love, respect, and humility. Thank you Mr. Chapman. I will try to do the same.

He came into my life when I was 7 years old. He took a very frightened little girl under his wing and kept me there for the next 40 years. He was sweet...and kind...and funny. He had the most beautiful voice...a one of a kind sense of humor...gave the best hugs I've ever received...and was the only human being I've ever been willing to share my candy bars with. How very blessed I was to have known him.

My heart, love and prayers are with you Marilyn.

Marilyn, Tom, Nancy, and all the grandchildren...I remember Chuck's beautiful voice as he sang in the choir at Grace Lutheran Church and I was fortunate enough to be his choir director. Chuck always had a smile on his face and could whistle like no one I have ever heard before. He will be truly missed. Whenever I hear "O Holy Night" sung on Christmas Eve, I think of Chuck who sang it so many times on that special night. My prayers are with your family during this most difficult time. - Becky Mullett (N. Lawrence, OH).

Marilyn and family: My love and prayers are with each of you at this sad time. It is always hard to say those earthly good-byes to those we love and hold so dear. I remember the times we would get together with Denny and Margaret and you and Chuck. What fun we had. Now he has received his finest and best award. He is with the one who loved him more than any other. His Master. "Blessed are they who mourn for they shall be comforted." In Jesus Love,

If this is the Mr. Chapman I remember from my second time in sixth grade, at Franklin School, he was the best teacher I ever had. He was a great man, and will be truly missed.

I offer my condolences to the Chapman family. I met Chuck at a State Teachers Retirement System board meeting. We were both advocates for STRS reform and members of Concerned Ohio Retired Educators (CORE). I thought highly of his opinions and we often emailed one another. Chuck was a real gentleman and will be missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to become his friend.

I served as a State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) Board member between 2005 and 2009. I will always remember Chuck as a person who advocated contructive change at STRS and fairness for retirees. He spoke many times at STRS Board meetings in Columbus, and he was excellent in his presentations. He was respected and he will be missed.
