Paul L. Bailey "Uncle Paul"|
Paul L. Bailey, 69, born March 14, 1944, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on February 16, 2014, surrounded by his family.
Paul worked for many years as a commercial roofer for Irv & Irv Roofing and CRS Industries. He also traveled extensively for 11 years while working as Crew Chief for the Seasons Balloon Team where he was known as "Uncle Paul." Most of all he loved spending time with his family, working in his garden and riding his tractor.
Uncle Paul was Carol's crew chief in the early years of the Seasons Hot Air Balloon Team and traveled extensively with the special shapes in the continental 48 states, Canada and several events in Europe. Most notably he was the crew chief for Carol when they took Mr. Winter to the Chateau dOex International Balloon Festival.
Uncle Paul also worked hundreds of hours building and maintaining Unlimited Ballooning Adventures in Medina.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Diane; mother-in-law, Dorothy Huston; children, Mike (Micky), Tammy (Dave) Hofer, Dennis (Leah), Philip (Karen), Timmy (Lorah), Teresa (Johnnie) Watkins, Bryan (Rose), Brady (Hannah), Bret, and Autumn (Brian) Sharpnack; sisters-in-law, Carol Weiner and Jan (Frank) Larkin; brothers-in-law, Donald (Cynthia) and John Huston; 40 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren soon to arrive and many other dear relatives and friends.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, February 20th, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown, where a memorial service to celebrate his life will immediately follow at 7 p.m., with Major Kenny Weiner and Ben Drennen officiating. A dinner will follow the memorial service.
