James C. Chaney|
James C. Chaney, 71, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 after a battle with COPD.
A resident of Fairlawn, he was an active member of the St. Edward High School class of 1960 and prominent around the campus of The University of Akron through Chaney Rentals. He spent most of his adult life as a manufacturer's representative in the furniture business.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred J. and Rosenell Chaney, and son, John D. Chaney, James is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen; sons, James of Fairlawn, Joseph of Wadsworth, and Kevin and Denise (Volk) of Auburndale, Florida; grandchildren, Logan, Madelyn, Carly, Colman, Olivia, Ashley, Evan, and Trista; sister, Mary Lynn (Gary) Schum of Lima; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the Hospice of Visiting Nurse's Justin T. Rogers Care Center for all the care and support that Jim and his family received.
