Donna J. Pelton|
Donna J. Pelton, 81, went home to be with her Lord on February 2, 2014. Born in Akron on March 9, 1932 to Vernon and Lillian Brady Wilmoth, she was an area resident all her life.
Donna, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, was an active member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ until her health made it impossible for her to attend.
She especially enjoyed Sunday afternoon card games with family and friends and would escape her physical confines through her love of reading. She was an inspiration to all as she finally succumbed to her fifty-year long battle with multiple sclerosis. Her endless compassion and smiling face will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Those who knew her will remember her love of life and concern for others that made everyone thankful to be a part of her life. Take comfort in the fact that there is a new angel in heaven who is at peace and walking with her Lord.
She is survived by her loving family; husband of almost 65 years, Robert; children, Leanne (Daniel) Healy and Bruce Pelton; granddaughter, Rachel Pelton; sister, Vivian Breth; and many other dear relatives and friends.
To celebrate her life, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on March 1st at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1480 Eastwood Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44305, with Pastor Steven Lashbrook officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to Emmanuel UCC.
