Edith June (Bausher) Weisend "Edie" was born June 3, 1925 and died February 20, 2014.

Edie was born and raised in Akron by Louis and Esther (Craig) Bausher. She attended Akron schools and was graduated from Garfield High School in 1943. She was graduated, with distinction from the University of Akron, and was a librarian at the Cuyahoga Falls Public Library and at the University of Akron.

Edie married Norbert A. Weisend, Jr. (Norb) on June 14, 1948 and had over 65 wonderful years of marriage. She was a long time very active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron, and volunteered many hours with Open M and the Akron Canton Food Bank. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, duplicate bridge and playing cards with friends and family. Also, she was a long time fan of Akron Zips Basketball and had season tickets from 1989 through the current year. Edie and Norb traveled many times overseas, including Europe and most recently Israel in 2010.

She was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Norb; daughter, Carol Wessinger and her children, Katie (Rich) and Julie (Mike); son, Jeff (Debbe) of Nevada; son, John (Mary Kay) and his son, Joey (Jessi); daughter, Ellen Wolcott (Keith) of Illinois and their children, Scott and Jane (Jose). Edie also leaves four great-granchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Marsh and the staff at the Akron General Hospital MICU. Also, we appreciate the compassion and professional care received from the staff at Concordia at Sumner (Memmer Building).

There will be calling hours and a memorial service conducted at a later date and her ashes will be interred in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Garden.
