THEN AND NOW|
Charles LeRoy Krebs
Charles LeRoy Krebs left this world a better place. For 77 years he shared his kindness and generosity with everyone he met.
His amazing talent for both his flower and vegetable gardens was enjoyed by so many people.
Charles' passion led him to create detailed holiday decorations, not only in his apartment, but throughout the halls and lobby of Highland Towers.
After 35+ years of working at the E. Exchange St. McDonalds, he retired to enjoy the classic board game "Sorry", Dominos, puzzles, trips to the Horseshoe Casino and his love of yard sales.
His aquarium brought him peace and a diversion from pain during his battle with cancer. On March 23, 2014, at 8:15 a.m. Charles began his final journey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Charles Krebs; brother, Russell; and sisters, Clara Widder and Barbara Ballew. Charles is survived by his husband of almost 39 years, Richard "Hud" Hudkins; loving niece, Linda Widder; caring nephew and his wife, Ted and Gerry Widder; longtime friends, Jenny Wilson, Bill Rock, and Dean Smith. Also left to celebrate his life are many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

My dearest Charles,
You have held my hand, my heart and my soul for 39 years. I will now see you in the spring flowers, feel your caress in the rain and hear you in the gentle breeze and touch you in all God has to offer. As I pass through the remainder of my life physically without you, I stand still and smile because one day I will walk beside you again in heaven.
Forever yours with all my love, Rick.
