Robert M. Zalewski Obituary
Robert M. Zalewski

Robert M. Zalewski, 79, of Kent, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and five children.

"God must need a very special mold because he called the very best to help him."

Robert was born September 29, 1934, in Kent to Stanley and Lillian (Wolski) Zalewski. He attended Brady Lake Elementary School, St. Patrick School, and Theodore Roosevelt High School - Class of 1952. Robert was a founding partner, owner and president of Tree City Mold and Machine Co. He was a life-long member of St. Patrick Church, a third degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Elks Club of Kent.

Robert cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren and considered them his greatest accomplishments. He enjoyed many family vacations traveling across the country with his family and spending time in Arizona with his wife. Robert never retired from the successful business he had built since 1955 and was proud to have his son working by his side as his partner. In his spare time he enjoyed working on projects around the home - there wasn't anything he could not fix or build.

Robert will be missed and remembered by his many friends and relatives, far and near.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Mary Ann (Leslie), whom he married on September 1, 1962; children, Marie (Ralph) Juliana of Frazer, Pa., Karen (Tony) Anzaldi of Tallmadge, Terrence (Sherri) Zalewski of Kent, Elaine Mattern of Kent, and Colleen (Todd) Perkins of Kent; grandchildren, Samantha Anzaldi, Devon Juliana, Emily Mattern, Tony Anzaldi, Stanley Zalewski, Angelo Juliana, Julia Zalewski, Alivia Juliana, Laura Zalewski, Robbie Perkins, and Riley Perkins; sisters, Rita (Sam) Macaluso of Mesa, Ariz., Loretta Brugmann of Mantua, Marcia (Vic) Reed of Mantua; sister-in-law, Ilona Zalewski of Mogadore; and many nieces and nephews and Godchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard Zalewski, Alan Zalewski, and Michael Zalewski; sisters, Dorothy Zalewski and Delores Zalewski; and brother-in-law, Roy Brugmann.

Calling hours will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 21st at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22nd at St. Patrick Church, with Father Richard Pentello officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
