Camille Petrosino Obituary
Camille Petrosino

Camille T. Petrosino, age 81, passed away suddenly June 9, 2014.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she lived in Akron and Tallmadge for most of her life. She graduated from North High School and, from the age of 12, she delighted in helping her father, Anthony Ninni, at his business, Ninni's Bakery on E. Cuyahoga Falls Avenue. She met her future husband on the Queen Mary on a vacation trip to Italy to visit relatives. In 1954, her wedding to Alfonso (Al) Petrosino was one of Akron's largest, hosting over 2000 guests where her father made three 7-foot tall wedding cakes for the event. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in North Hill and volunteered her time with the church and friends. She was a great cook and baker priding herself in her italian specialties. She enjoyed hosting parties with friends and family and she took pride in making her home beautiful inside and out. She enjoyed playing the piano, cards, bowling, and bingo. She was co-owner of North Akron Typewriter on E. Cuyahoga Falls Avenue, with her late husband, retiring in 1998. They enjoyed breakfasts out, afternoon drives in the countryside, and site-seeing the back roads of Ohio. She was a member of the St. Monica Society, the Goldenagers, and the Tallmadge Primetimers. In the last several years she enjoyed helping her nephew, Tony Ninni, at Ninni's Bakery on E. Tallmadge Avenue before its closing in 2013. Camille was a great mother and was a vibrant woman who had so much more to give in this life, but God called her home where she will rejoin with her sorely-missed late husband and her parents.

Camille was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Alfonso (Al), in 2007; parents, Anthony and Anna (Tempesta) Ninni; brothers, Nick (Rita), and Vincent (Dorothy).

She is survived by her sons, Alfonso of Cuyahoga Falls, and Anthony (Patricia) of Akron; grandsons Alfonso and Adam; brother, Frank (Teresa); godson, Patrick (Sarah) DiLullo; dear niece, Christina Rubino-Milano; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at St. Anthony Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron, with Father Paul Rosing officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Avenue (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and immediately prior to the procession to the church on Saturday.
