Judith L. Schwarze|
Judith Lee Schwarze (nee Struckman), 71, a loving and generous mom, wife and friend, passed away after a brave two year battle with ovarian cancer on June 18, 2014.
Born in Akron on August 15, 1942, she graduated from Ellet H.S. and completed an associate degree in x-ray technology at Akron General Hospital. Judy worked for the Akron Clinic, the insurance department at Goodyear, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Chattanooga before retiring.
She was active in the Beta Sigma Phi woman's sorority and served as the chapter president. She also served as city council president and was elected the 1973 national girl of the year. Judy was very active in the Goodyear golf leagues and held several league championships.
Preceded in death by her father, James Struckman and mother, Evelyn Leckemby Struckman; she is survived by her husband, John Schwarze; daughter, Christine (Terry White); son, Jeffery Schwarze; sister, Carol Huff; and grandchildren, Brandon and Taylor White.
Visitation Monday 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown, where funeral services will immediately follow at 7 p.m., with Rev. Jerry Harpool officiating. Private burial at Greenlawn Cemetery in Uniontown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, 2501 Oak Lawn Ave. #435, Dallas, TX 75219.
