Dorothy E. (Howard) Lamp, age 84, a homemaker, died July 8, 2014 at Altercare of Wadsworth, after a period of failing health.
She was the wife of the late Simmie Lamp Jr. Born in Portland Maine, Mrs. Lamp was raised in Stoughton, Mass. before moving to Barberton, Ohio.
Dorothy was great at baking and often brought cookies and homemade candy to the Barberton Police and Fire Departments in honor of their dedication and sacrifices. She was a published poet, and wrote many poems about Barberton.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late Hugh and Hazel Howard. She is survived by her siblings, Leslie (Joe) Howard and wife, Mary of South Easton, Mass., Robert (Bill) Howard of Canton, Mass., Barbara Landolfi of Middlboro, Mass., Eileen Landolfi and husband Fred of Raynham, Mass., Millie Gareri and husband, Tony of Stoughton, Mass., Trudy Millman and husband, Ron of Carver, Mass.; sister of the late Paul Howard and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Altercare of Wadsworth, 147 Garfield St., Wadsworth, OH 44281 or Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, OH 44256. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton 44203. Deacon Robin Adair officiating. Calling hours one hour prior to service. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.
