Bettie J. Sasz passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at home surrounded by family and friends.
Bettie was born Nov. 20, 1941 in Lincoln Parrish, La. to Wilbert and Sallie Mae Boyett (nee Hicks).
Bettie retired from Edwin Shaw Hospital as a dietary aide. She then worked as a caregiver for several home health aide companies in the Akron area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Lynn; sisters, Marie Owen and Margie Wesig; brothers, Travis and Leon Boyett; and special niece, Patricia Fowler.
Bettie is survived by her high school sweetheart-husband, Paul; son, Paul W.;, daughters, Lisa, Ramona (David) and Laura; five grandchildren Curtis and Christian White, Tony and Tyler Stock and Sarah Sasz; sisters, Barbara and Ruth Ann; brother, Ronnie and a host of nieces and nephews and a special caregiver who became part of the family, Heidi Braham.
Funeral services to be held Saturday, July 26, 11 a.m. at The CATAVOLOS FUNERAL HOME, 3653 W. Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44333. Burial to immediately follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, Bettie's wish was to have donations made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
