DOYLESTOWN -- William A. McCuen passed away August 19, 2014.

He was born on July 12, 1934 in Oil City, Pa., where he graduated from St. Joseph's High School. He continued his education at John Carroll University and the University of Detroit. He worked at Babcock and Wilcox (Barberton, Ohio) as a Civil Engineer for 40 years. The people he met at B&W were very special to him and he greatly cherished his time there. It was at B&W that he met his wife Martha. They then raised their family in Doylestown, Ohio and are members of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Gardening, racquetball, tennis, reading and writing were among his many hobbies.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha; seven children, Michael (Megan) McCuen, Patrick (Tami) McCuen, Brian (Debbie) McCuen, Beth McCuen, Maria (Joey) Norman, Jennifer McCuen and Colleen (Scott) Fry; 18 grandchildren; and sister, Mary (Robert) Pschirer. He was preceded in death by brother, Richard; and infant granddaughter, Kristen McCuen.

We mourn the loss of a faithful servant of the Lord. Bill was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather. He was also a caring brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.

Bill's positive outlook on life and strong faith in God, were an inspiration to many and we will forever cherish our many wonderful memories.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, with Fr. David McCarthy as Celebrant. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends and family may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, 44230.
