Ruby Dunagan Obituary
Ruby Lucille (Oates) Dunagan (Wilson), 98, went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2003.
Ruby was born in Colum bus, Ga. to Atty. William and Mrs. Anna Oates on April 21, 1905.
She obtained her masters degree in education from Atlanta University and was a dedicated teacher for 43 years, retiring from Akron Public Schools in 1974. She was a resi dent of Akron, Ohio since 1949. Ruby was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Phi Delta Kappa (National Teachers Sorority), a member of Centenary U.M. Church.
Preceded in death by parents, William and Anna Oates; brother, William Oates Jr.; husbands, Thom as J. Dunagan and Willie Wilson. She leaves behind dedicated caregivers Hattie Davis and Antoinette Simmons; special friends, Catherine Baker, Bob Morrison, Esther Spruill and Benjamin Holly. She also leaves to mourn a host of relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Cambridge Home Health Care and the 7100 staff at Akron General Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 1 p.m. at Stewart & Cal houn Funeral Home with Rev. How ard Pippen officiating. Interment Glendale Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Condolences may be sent to 356 Berry Ave. (Stewart & Calhoun, 330-535-1543.)
