Obituary Condolences

Lori Maples Fairweather

Lori Maples Fairweather, 52, of Chantilly, Va., passed away peacefully at her home on March 17, 2009 concluding a courageous 16 month battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Bill Fairweather; stepson, Brian of Washington, D.C.; sisters, Shelley Barger of Akron, Ohio, and Rhonda Casella of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and brothers, James and John Bond. She will be greatly missed by a host of other family and friends as well as her beloved Westie, `` Middie."

During the last year and a half, Lori had been an inspiration to family and friends, but perhaps most significantly to her fellow patients at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, for whom she was a source of strength, hope and comfort.

Services for Lori will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron, on March 28, 2009 at 2 p.m., with The Rev. Dr. George L. Murphy officiating. In lieu of flowers, Lori asked that memorial donations be made in her name to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 520 8th Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10018, or to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 4904 Quick Rd., Peninsula, OH 44264.
