Rev. Norman P. James Obituary
Rev. Norman P. James, went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a short illness.

He was born April 14, 1933 in Akron, Ohio to Thomas and Corrine James. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War after which the Lord called him to service, where he served faithfully as the Pastor of Timothy Baptist Church for 43 years until the time of his illness. He was also employed by Akron Equipment Company as a tool and die maker, retiring after 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Onie James; daughter, Kathie James; brothers, Thomas James and Charles James; sisters, Eleanor Brown and Agnes Bowden. He leaves to forever cherish his memory loving daughter, Norma Jean James; grandson, Robert (Tony) Fleming; granddaughter, Kathi (Mishelle) Fleming; brother, Willie James; special friend, Barbara Simpson; as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Mr. James' life will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Timothy Baptist Church, Rev. Lavern Merriweather officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1421 Chippewa Ave.
