Life's Pillow
May 7, 2018
This day is old
I'm getting cold
And there is no turning back
Something to hold onto
Take what is due to you
I do not want anything in return
The stars shine bright
On this brave night
With a life I am giving away
Bury judgments in the ground
The time is coming around
To make amends for the things we do
Your mind says ok
Your heart fades away
Let morality eat at your soul
Life has its rewards
Just desserts I'm told
Make your decisions it's time to go
Here lies next to kin
Let faith believe in
And lay your head on life's pillow
As always, I am missing you my friend

Time that Separates
(May 27, 2014)
Time the only thing that separates us
Bridge the gap that takes us
Down separate roads in time
Time not rushed for it will pass
Bridge the time (trust) that ever lasts
In the wooded paths of time
Time that created our great divide
Bridge the while to the bye and bye
Over friendship trails left in time
Time led us to that certain fork in the road
A sturdy bridge for life's cumbersome load
From the wait that separates us by the length of time
Problems solved in a matter of space in the measure of time
Time let yesterday be done waiting for tomorrow to come
Bridging the time to find while making our way back home
Plenty of time to pass before we meet again
There's nothing that separates like the lack of time
Time to shed the past a chance to see my future
Knowledge to reason like lessons learned from life's teachers
But, when my time comes there'll be time for us again
To pass the time away leaving nothing to comprehend
There's nothing that comprehends the study of time
Time for you to rest in peace my friend
There's time for us once we meet again
I'll always have thoughts of our time together
For you my good friend our time lasting forever
Your life long friend, Chuck

Eternity's Passed A Note to Him
Time to remiss
Everlasting memories
Time we've missed
Prayers across a quiet mist
Friends for eternity
Only thoughts left to reminisce
A Hope of no regrets
Years slipped away
Remembering you is hard to forget
A voice was heard
Our candle was dimmed
Eternity has passed a note to Him
I, we and everyone misses you my closest friend and brother

We were reminiscing about past memories, the Nutcracker, friendships, lost loved ones this past Saturday night, I hopped in my pickup truck, turned on some tunes and like always, when I'm thinking about you, a Kiss song is always on the radio …AMAZING …We know you're near … you're still with us …we miss your presence …we'll all be together some day …stay close my brother and Merry Christmas

i remember,
a boy,rushing to be a man.
a heart strong but kind,
a soul full of light, but just enough dark for good balance.
no nonsense, but willing to share what he had.
just before our paths separated,we got to know each other a little better.
learned of our shared love of the of the written word,it was at this time that he committed an act of kindness i will never forget.and one he would be embarrassed to have been thanked or acknowleged for.
i remember the boy rushing to be a man,i consider it a great loss not to have been there when he arrived.

Finale
The longest day took you away my dear friend
New summers light fading lingered till midnight
Reach up kiss the sky wailed guitar thru August’s humid breezes I dared to say a Pavarotti opera was never more pleasing
Nothings has changed it’s just a part of life
Night time came quietly and left you silent
Devons pool of memories roofs easy leap of faith all was good least swords cut easy thru Kashes stinky bait
Act 2
Morning light came without incident
A coyote’s whispering mist of blossoms innocence
A hawk wind soaring thru mid summers flight
Bike riding mystery’s a fall shirey tomato fight
Children of the 70’s searching for peace with spirits on the wind
Our childhood’s decadent ways akin free of others forbidding sin
A lake tranquil rope murky waters swinging soaring heights there was nothing wrong with a hallows eve fire fight
Intermission
I suddenly stopped to think how we were
What was to become of us I’m still not sure?
Christmans silver tinsel skips across Northampton lakes shallow end sled riding thru ravines steep and narrow we became friends again
We never felt aged as the calendar said we were
I’m feeling a little older today without you being here
Beach cruising Tahoe lemon highlighted hair was the trend, raise the main sail stay on the white Daytona sand
Act 1
Keep smiling for memories shared will last forever
Spirit soaring thru a valleys blue sky’s heaven
Swaying pine tree fragile tops while missing Jody’s enduring smile, we lived as we were nothing ever stops
Fire works littered night sky’s haze, the corn growing taller has never smelt sweeter
Knee high by the 4th of July is what we prayed; someday is the day we’ll be free together
A ball rolls to rivers edge with Nick running to it, slowly heading to Peninsula the canoed slipped right thru it
Encore
Our friendship a test of time will never end
Nothing has changed with you being my friend
Lindley Avenue Northampton’s little dead end street
Thanksgiving dinner playground talk is killing me
Dwight’s fire truck with September cornfields the butter churn will weep and life’s little secrets are sometimes left with a taste that’s bitter sweet
A life time of memories has bond us together
Nothing has changed with me being your brother
Encore, Encore!
As Always forever your friend Chuck
