Thomas F. Baldwin Obituary
Thomas F. Baldwin WADSWORTH -- Thomas F. Baldwin, 81, of Wadsworth passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011. He was born on March 5, 1930 to the late Vance and Rhea Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was a graduate of Wadsworth High School Class of 1948 and a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was an aircraft mechanic. He was the former owner and operator of the Wadsworth Oil Company, Baldwin's Sunoco and later retired as a mechanic for the Wadsworth City Schools Transportation Dept. Tom was a volunteer for the Wadsworth Fire Department and later served as the assistant chief for several years. For 25 years Tom served as a Wadsworth Twp. Trustee and served on the Cemetery Board. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed horses and was a supporter of the Wadsworth City Schools Drama and Vocal Music Departments. Tom loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Baldwin; brother, Homer Baldwin; and sister, Joanne Dodge. Tom is survived by his wife, Marian, with whom he would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on Tuesday October 18, 2011; his children, Brenda Adley of Wadsworth, Judy (Randy) Haulk of Meyersdale, Pa., and Nathan (Margaret) Baldwin of Wadsworth. He was the proud grandfather of Kelly (Dustin) Godshall, Jennifer (Russell) Cammann, Kristen Sylvester, Melissa (John) Kipke, Kyle (Valerie) Haulk, Brittany Ellesin, Meghan (Kevin) Barker, Stephanie Adley and Alivia Baldwin. There are four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Reggie, Ava and Aubryn; and one sister, Marsha (Richard) Shimer of Barberton. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at Northside Christian Church, 7615 Ridge Rd., Wadsworth, where a memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Robin L. Hart officiating. Private inurnment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northside Christian Church or Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 195 Broad St., Wadsworth, OH 44281.
