Arthur J. McCall Obituary
Arthur J. McCall was born August 8, 1930 in Akron, Ohio. He made his heavenly transition on April 26, 2012 after a brief illness. Mr. McCall attended Akron Public Schools. Mr. McCall was preceded in death by his daughter, Gwendolyn Blackwell; his parents, Arthur C. McCall and Laura McCall; brother, Theodore McCall; sisters, Luvenia, Margaret and Jean McCall, Beatrice Jones, Ruth Robinson and Ruby Ash. He is survived by wife, Deloris Ann McCall; sons, Arthur R. Stovall of Riverside, Calif., Gregory Skipper of San Antonio, Texas, Garland McCall and Jeffory McCall; daughters, Minyon Stovall and Gavonda Skipper; special nephews, Charles "Choo-Choo" Jones, Ted Jones, Green Ash III, all of Akron, Ohio; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; special friends, "Fast" Eddie Turner, Thomas Sistrunk and "Rooster"; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.

At the time of his death Mr. McCall was a faithful member and trustee of Ebeneezer Apostolic Assembly. Mr. McCall was employed by Norfolk and Western Railway Company for 20 years, retiring in 1992. Mr. McCall was a gang worker for the Brotherhood of Maintenance Way Employees. Mr. McCall, affectionately known as "MC," was a pillar and respected member of the East Akron Community and will be missed and remembered by many.

Service will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at noon at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave., with Pastor Robert Palmer eulogizing. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery. Procession will form at 501 Kelly Ave. Condolences may be sent to 703 Elbon Ave., Akron 44306.
