Obituary Condolences

Dolores A. "Dolly" Blucker Obituary
Dolores A. "Dolly" Blucker, 86, passed away June 9, 2012.

Born in Akron on November 25, 1925 to Everett and Frances Davidson, Dolly graduated from St. Mary's High School and started her career in 1947 as a stay at home mother, raising six children.

Being an excellent cook, Dolly also worked part time as a caterer, better known as one of "Marie's Girls". While raising her family, she still found time to volunteer at St. Thomas Hospital for over 35 years, and also volunteered for the Portage County Food Shelf. Dolly was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society, her aerobics group and her Coffee Clutch. She enjoyed bus tours and hanging out with her children and grandchildren. Dolly was a big Indians fan, win or lose.

She is survived by her husband and sweetheart of 66 years, James W. C. Blucker (former employee of Ohio Edison); children, James (Nancy) Blucker, Jane (Bill) Allen, Kathryn (Paul) Nitz, Mary (Russ) Varner, Diane (Roger) Haught and Michael (Susan) Blucker; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd., Mogadore 44260, with Father Edward R. Wieczorek celebrating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Ave., MOGADORE 44260, from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dolly's name to the Portage County Food Shelf at St. Joseph Catholic Church. (Hopkins Lawver, MOGADORE, 330-733-6271)
