Robert Lee Phillips, age 81, entered into rest on October 6, 2012 in Nashville, Tenn.|
He was born on June 5, 1931 in Akron, Ohio the son of Helen and Roland Phillips. Robert proudly served his country as a Beach Jumper in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was a carpet installer and worked for O'Neils and Allen-Keith Construction. Robert was a Mason of Amos H. Englebeck Lodge #751 F&AM and was a member at the Army-Navy Garrison #273 in Lakemore. He was also an avid golfer and reader.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Michael Zimmerman; grandchildren, Olivia Lee and Brandon Michael Zimmerman; and Julie's mother, Carol Hopkins.
Friends may call Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312, where the funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Masonic services will be conducted Tuesday, 6:45 p.m. by Wayfarer Lodge #789 F. & A.M.
