John "Jack" Sudimak, Jr., age 71, of Medina, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012. He was born December 10, 1940 in Warren, Ohio to the late John and Helen (Lucas) Sudimak. Jack served our nation in the 595th Signal Corps of the U.S. Army and he formerly worked for the Cleveland Metro Parks doing construction and maintenance. He continued his family tradition of collecting S-Scale Model Trains; he was a founder of Northern Ohio S-Scalers, member of the Cuyahoga Valley S-Gaugers, and a member of the Central Ohio S-Gaugers. He spent nearly 40 years as a "Special" Police Officer with the Medina City Police Department. Jack loved to be around people and used trains to bring people into a conversation. He enjoyed being with his family, target shooting and the Demolition Derbies at the Medina County Fair where he won several champioships.|
He was the beloved husband of Sharron (Cooper); loving father of Corinne (David) Schoenbeck and Curt Sudimak; dear brother of Robert "Shorty" (Jean) Sudimak. He was also a special uncle to nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Andrew Denison.
Service will be held Monday, 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 400 N. Broadway St., Medina, Ohio 44256, with burial to follow at Waltz Cemetery in Lafayette Twp. Visitation will be held Sunday, 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 North Court St., Medina. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church or Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, Ohio 44256.
