Kathleen Gray Obituary

Kathy passed suddenly on October 17, 2012. She was born April 30, 1932 to Edward and Anna Richardson. She was the youngest of 11 children.

She graduated from Central High in 1950. She attended the University of Akron and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Primary Education in 1955. On December 17, 1955, she married the love of her life, Harold Lee Gray and raised two daughters. They resided in Granger Township for over 40 years. Kathy taught school at McEbright, Rankin, King, Fairlawn and finished her teaching career of over 31 years at Voris Elementary. She loved every minute of teaching.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents, Edward and Anna Richardson; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Jeannette Richardson, Ann Taylor, Edna (Frank) Styles, Elizabeth (Tom) Williams, Rhoda Phillips and Ralph Tate. Kathy is survived by sisters, Martha Tate, Idabelle (Phil) Schmuck, Guy Phillips; daughters, Paula (Tom) Evert and Diane Ebaugh; three grandchildren, Shannon (Jennifer) Evert, Elizabeth (Chad) Stapp and John Edward Ebaugh; great-grandchildren, Leah Rose Stapp, Gavin Evert, Gabrielle Evert and Gabriel Evert; Kathy also leaves many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great nephews. She adored them all.

Per Kathleen's wishes, cremation has taken place and private burial will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

A very special thank you to everyone at Altercare of Wadsworth and a very special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Barberton Hospital CCU. Thank you all for your tender and loving care of our mother.

In lieu of flowers, a Kathleen Gray Memorial has been established for those wishing to contribute. Condolences and memorials may be sent in care of Paula Evert, 935 Mull Ave. Apt. 1A, Akron, Ohio 44313.
