George J. Barron Jr. Obituary
George J. Barron, Jr., 85, passed away November 23, 2012.

He was born in Akron to the late George and Cary (Willis) and was an East High School graduate. He also was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War and retired from Goodyear with 42 years of service. George was extremely active in the community. He was an Eagle Scout, Boy Scout and Cub Scout Master and was active in Goodyear Heights Little League baseball. He was a member of the Akron-Coventry Masonic Lodge 83 and the Scottish Rite Valley of Akron, where he was past Commander-In-Chief and recipient of the Meritorious Service Award. He was also a long-time member of Wedgewood United Methodist Church and a past Master of Loyalty # 645.

In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean and a stillborn brother. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Melinda) and Keith; and brother-in-law, William Keith.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 12 noon at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Karen Hartley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral for TWO HOURS prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, with a Masonic service at 11:30 a.m. Private interment at Mogadore Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wedgewood United Methodist Church, 2350 Wedgewood Drive, Akron, OH 44312.
