William Christopher Waickman Obituary
William Christopher Waickman, 55, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013.

Bill was born on July 14, 1957 in Akron to the Francis J. and Marie M. Waickman. He was a graduate of Campion Jesuit High School, Akron University, and The Ohio State University. Bill was employed in Washington, D.C. at NOAA. Fiercely independent and a lover of nature, Bill excelled in skiing and kayaking.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Francis J. Waickman, MD and brother, F. Joseph Waickman, MD.

He leaves behind his mother, Marie M. Waickman; brothers, L. Anthony (Lynn) Waickman MD, Mark M. (Patricia) Waickman, Michael J. (Mary Beth) Waickman MD; sisters, Ann (John Moore) Waickman, Kit (Awen) Briem; sister-in-law, Marianne Waickman; uncle, Paul Waickman; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Celeste Prussak, Steve Batug and Barbara Moore.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd., Copley. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 18, at 11 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1686 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Copley 44321. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mobile Meals of Akron Inc., 1063 S. Broadway St., Akron 44311.
