CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Robert S. King, 88, passed away February 6, 2013 from Lymphoma and a broken heart after the passing of his beloved wife of 66 years, Liz on Jan. 6, 2013. |
Mr. King was born in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Chester and Laura (Finney) King. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II Pacific Theater. Robert worked as a Supervisor at Firestone Tire & Rubber Company until his retirement after over 40 years service and he was a member of First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls.
Robert is survived by his children, James (Celeste) King, of Cuyahoga Falls, and Carol (James) Whitacre, of Stow; grandchildren, James King, James Whitacre, Donald "DJ" Whitacre, Michelle Gesualdo (Dave), Bill Medkeff and Maddie Medkeff; great grandchildren, Cory, Joey, and Johnny; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth King, in 2013, daughter, Janet Medkeff; sisters, Vivian Reynolds, and Juanita Booher, and brother, Harold King.
The Family would like to express special thanks to Drs. Margie Lewis and Gary Pinta for their exceptional care, to the nurses and staff at the Infusion Center at Summa Western Reserve Hospital for their loving and wonderful care and the nurses and staff of Summa Hospice.
Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received on Monday, Feb. 11, from 2 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11 at The First Christian Church, 2253 Third St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Rev. Gail S. Lindsey will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Cuyahoga Falls. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be directed to his church.
