Donald Douglas Moore Obituary
Donald Douglas Moore died on January 12, 2013. He was born and raised, in Detroit, Michigan on January 31, 1932.

Don served in the U.S. Army. He was always intrigued by understanding how; and why things work the way they do. His trade was engineering but, he was an inventor by choice.

Among Don's inventions was the first air operated tire changer, bead extruders, boat lift, can crusher, superstick, and his pride and joy, the Adjustable Universal Golf Club. At the time of his death, Don was working on a portable air operated wheel chair lift. Don's inventions saved many man hours, over the years. He was a unique man with a passion for innovation. He held a total of 14 patents and the trademark for the game of "ZOLF."

Don owned and operated Donmor Cleaning Centers, Highlander Products, Moore Manufacturing, Walkersclub and Universal Golf Club.

Don loved golf, traveling, spending time with friends and family. Don served as President of the Fairlawn Kiwanis and Lt. Governor for the Ohio Kiwanis Association; He was a Fairlawn Councilman; Chairman of the Annual 4th of July fireworks celebration, chairman of the Great Balloon Race and Fly Days in Wadsworth, Ohio. Don was an instrumental player in getting the Chamber of Commerce building and recreation center, built in Fairlawn, Ohio. He was a President of the Dry Cleaning Association of America and President of the Great Oaks Merchant Association in Wadsworth Ohio. Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus, NRA, NRC and the Heritage Foundation. Don tirelessly gave back to the communities in which he lived.

Don was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Moore and sons, Kenneth Moore, Donald Moore and Robert Moore.

He is remembered by his wife and best friend of 32 years, Peggy Sue Moore; brother, Ronnie Moore; and children in order of birth and marriage: Debra Moore Tovar Torres, Daniel and Candice Moore, William and Courtney Moore, Sandy Moore-Hogrefe and Tim Hogrefe, Kelly and Jolie Moore, Roger Darnell and Geneve Darnell Moore; grandchildren and great-grand-children.

A private Memorial Service will be held at Craig Funeral Home, 1475 Old Dixie Highway, St. Augustine, Florida 32084, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2013 for friends and family.
