Alfonso Singleton Obituary
He attended Akron Public Schools and in 1991 he graduated from Buchtel High School. Alfonso attended the University Of Mount Union, where he pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He later graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Sociology. He was baptized at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church and later united with Cornerstone Church in Maumee, Ohio. Alfonso was employed at the Lucas County Juvenile Detention Center for thirteen years as a Juvenile Detention Officer.
Alfonso leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Felicia Singleton; loving parents, Jack and Mary Singleton; sister, Margo (Donnie) Johnson; brother, Angelo (Marya) Singleton; nephews, Warren Byrd and Angelo Singleton, Jr.; great-nephew, Revere Garrett; nieces, Paige Spragling and Jasmine Singleton; and a host of family and friends.
Service will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 at 12 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Pastor Gregory Freeman officiating. Interment at Glendale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 618 Orlando Ave., Akron, OH 44320.
