Robert Lawrence Dyke, 70, of Akron, Ohio passed away April 26, 2013 at Akron General Medical Center. |
He was born on February 6, 1943 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Raymond and Edith (Flanagan) Dyke.
Robert is survived by wife of 45 years, Brenda; sons, Michael (Robin) Dyke, Wayne (Shera) Dyke; daughter, Jill Dyke; grandchildren, Kylie, Ryan, Sydney, Tyler, Gia, Alexis; sisters, Virginia (Norman) Newhouse, Shirley (John) Chambers; brother-in- law, Larry Ewins. He was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Edith Dyke; sister, Patty Ewins.
Robert was employed by the Copley School System for 27 years. He was a veteran of the Marine Corp serving during the Vietnam War and a Past Master of National Lodge No. 568 F. & A.M.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd., Copley where Masonic services will be held at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home, Pastor Kevin Truex officiating.
